“My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I'm right.”
Heard someone say this one time on the radio (they were serious, btw), and I remember thinking, 'Man, that dude must have a huge head.'
Well, spoke yesterday to Advisors Excel in Phoenix. Saw this ridiculously outsized head and took a pic to show my kids.
....and for those of you concerned O'Leary may be getting a big head, I have good new: my children, my bride, years of perspective, the reflection in the mirror, life experience, and personal gratitude for everything has a way of keeping me incredibly humble and grounded!
This is your day. Keep a small head and a huge heart. Live Inspired. J

Early this morning my phone starting blowing up with kind messages and sweet notes of love. Why? Good question!
32 years ago today a curious nine-year-old boy...holding a small piece of burning paper...bent over a can of gasoline... the fumes inhaled the flame...a mighty explosion erupted...and I was blasted 20 feet against the far side of the garage leaving me with burns on 100% of my body.
January 17, 1987 is a day that changed my life. Literally every day since has been full of challenges and struggles, spoken and unspoken.
And every day since then has been full of blessings and gifts more beautiful and undeserved than anything I could have fathomed.
Today I am in awe that siblings, parents, nurses, therapists, doctors, volunteers, old friends and perfect strangers stepped forward at the right time, with the right word, right action, right gift to encourage a little boy and his family forward.
I am in awe that I survived the fire, found a girl who not only loves me in spite of scars, but maybe in some ways because of them...a girl, btw, who somehow gets more beautiful - inside and out - every day since we've met (sappy...but true).
I am in awe that I get to raise four little ones...who love me and call me the greatest name on earth: Dad.
I am in awe that I get to travel around the world, sharing this story, and reminding audiences of the power, beauty and miracle within their story.
And I am in utter awe that God seems to use what at first seems like the worst, most tragic stories, for purposes of good, grace, redemption, and healing. My friends, it's true in my life....and I am certain in yours, too.
I used to hate when January 17th would roll around on the calendar. Today, it's a day I celebrate...and wanted to thank you, my friends, for being such a wonderful part of my story.
This is your day. Live Inspired. J

“If there’s hope in the future, there’s power in the present.” -Coach Dabo Swinney
* * * * * Happy Monday Friends!
If you were asked to pick one word that would encourage your team to be as successful as possible this year, what word would you choose?
If you are the head of a sales team, perhaps your word would be effort or grit or service. If the team you are leading is in health care maybe it’s healing or extraordinary or presence. And if the team you’re leading is a crew of little ones at home, maybe your word is patience or listening-ears or now!
But what if your team was a disparate group of 18 to 22-year-old athletes? What if they came from a couple dozen states, with differing beliefs and values, and from every imaginable upbringing? What single word might bring them together and forge them into champions?
The winning head coach of the 2018 College Football National Championship considered this question as the season began, and his answer might surprise you.
In today's #MondayMotivation, I share the one word that Coach Dabo Swinney chose to share with the Clemson Football team at the beginning of the 2018 season, and I remind each of us what this word means in our lives.
And when you're done, share in the comments below the one word you'd like to define your 2019. I can't wait to see what each of you shares, friends!
Today is your day. Live Inspired.
* * * * * I thought of this story not only while witnessing Coach Dabo Swinney’s massive smile after winning the College Football National Championship last week, but also while visiting with another friend of mine from South Carolina, Steve Grant. Steve has one of the most tragic and redemptive stories I’ve ever heard. On our Live Inspired Podcast, he shares his own family’s struggle with addictions, mistakes, tragedies, and lessons, and ultimately what it means for all of us. With more than 72,000 Americans dying of a drug overdose last year alone, this is a topic we need to discuss, and I believe Steve’s story could be life-saving for you or a loved one.
