Thanks to everyone for recommending books for our book club – kicking off April 1. The Rising Above community voted and Jeff Williams’ recommendation How Full is Your Bucket? was selected for our April read. Check out Jeff’s thoughts and insights on the book  below. Q: Why do you recommend How Full is Your Bucket?
A: If you are looking for something to read that is very encouraging, positive, easy to read and full of examples How Full is Your Bucket? is the book for you.

Q: What was your favorite part about this book?
A: The way the authors use research to show how praise and encouragement do have a positive impact on people. I often find myself referring back to different parts of the book.

Q: What was your key take-away from the book?
A: As a society we focus too much on weaknesses and negativity; to reach our full potential we should focus on our strengths and use the power of positivity.

Q: Why do you like to read?
A: I like to read things that can give me practical ideas on how to be a better person and a better leader.

Q: Why do you like being part of the Rising Above community?
A: I like Rising Above because it’s inspirational. It gives me a boost of emotional energy. It motivates and encourages me.

Q: What other books do you recommend?
A: Quiet Strength, Crazy Love and the Bible.

Q: Anything else you’d like to share?
A: I just came across the the Rising Above website in the last few months and I especially enjoy reading John’s blog and his inspirational messages. Your organization is making a tremendous impact and having a positive influence. We need to hear more about these type of things! I encourage you to keep up the great work!
