In line with our August theme “denial v. self-acceptance,” here is an excerpt from my journal when I was 23 years old – this is now also the epilogue for my parents’ book Overwhelming Odds about our family’s fire and our journey to healing.
…When the air cools, and the steam disappears, the makeup rubs off, or the money is all spent–—we are left with who we really are. It is up to each person to find his or her way and purpose in life and after 23 years, I am still very much searching for my own deeper purpose. [Tweet this.]
