Thanks for this great insight. My father has made a huge impact on my life. He never quit when things got tough. He did whatever it took to support his family. Dad’s word was his bond. Upon his death, he left to his children land that he farmed for years. He could have sold it and lived a life of leisure but he rented it to brothers starting out in farming. The agreement for rent was a handshake.

John,
If I have to name just one person that has impacted my life, I would choose my Dad, George Singleton Jr. More than any one person, he is the one I have always tried to be like. He dedicated his life to the service of his country spending 28 years in the United States Air Force. He didn’t stop there. He continued to serve in Government Civil Service, until he retired. He was a foster Dad to many unfortunate kids, which I kind of resented at the time, but now know that it was a special gift that my family could give them in their journey. He is measured by the countless people he has helped and given most of his worldly possessions to them along the way. Because of him, I too spent 23 years in uniform and retired from the Air Force Reserves. I have also been in Government Civil Service for the past 22 years. I have a heart for helping kids too, as I champion the Mannatech M5M Foundation that feeds malnourished children world-wide. I am not a mirror image, only trying to live up to the example set for me.

Wow, so thankful I caught your interview with Dave Ramsey the other day. So I looked you up on your website. So inspiring! What one person has influenced my life? I guess I am like Dave, a lot of people have been brought into my life to help me become who I am and you are one of them today. Most recently my husband Allen is such an inspiration to me. He loves God so much and shows His love in his life to those around him. He is cheerful and encouraging, he is helpful and thoughtful of others. He loves me and is such a great influence on me. There you have it. God continue to bless you and your family and ministry to others through your life. 🙂

Janean! Thank you so much for sharing! Glad we got connected through Dave, and happy you found such a wonderful husband 🙂 If you are in the Dallas area and would like to be entered to win tickets to the Smart Conference with Dave (and me!) next Saturday 3/28 – email info@RisingAbove.com. J
