Today is a very special day. It is the 15th anniversary of my hero Jack Buck’s passing and it’s nearing the 30th anniversary of “John O’Leary day at the ballpark” that he held for me at Busch Stadium. In light of these anniversaries: Major League Baseball Network produced an amazing feature of my unlikely friendship with Jack.

I’m sending you “Monday Motivation” newsletter a day early because I couldn’t wait to share this video with you.

Although you’ve likely heard or read aspects of the story before, you’ve never seen it told like this. Please take a few minutes to watch this video.

On Father’s Day, a day we celebrate our dads and all the father figures in our lives, let this video remind you of the ability we possess to profoundly impact the lives of others.

Just do me one favor, okay? Share the video after wiping your tears!

Jack Buck’s legacy is a reminder that “unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.”

This is your day.  Live Inspired.

15 years ago I strapped on a toddler to my back, a one year old in a front pack, took 2 busses to Busch so I could witness this man’s greatness the best way I knew how. Last week, I witnessed your testimony in a leadership conference. What a difference 15 years makes. I couldn’t even get the dishes done then – heck – I can’t even do that 15 years and 4 kids later – but the inspiration a young girl (fist born girl in 90+ years to a family of baseball fans) could get from the likes of him – I got from you so that I can move forward in my leadership. Thank you. Jack always knew winners when he saw them.
Why me?

Thank you John for sharing your life. I am so inspired by your strength and determination to do all that you do.
Not use using your disability as an excuse but a blessing.
God bless you and your beautiful family. You are in our daily prayer
