Remembering the Origin of Thanksgiving
As we in the United States approach the important day of giving thanks, I’m sure there is lots of shopping, cooking, and cleaning to be done. But today, I want us to briefly pause and think about the origins of this special holiday.
While many of us are probably familiar with the story of the pilgrims at Plymouth Rock, Thanksgiving did not actually become a national holiday until many years later. In today’s #LiveInspired vlog, I share the story of Sarah Hale, Abraham Lincoln, and the unlikely proclamation that officially names Thanksgiving as a holiday.
May it be a reminder to you that even in the midst of struggles, challenges, and crisis, there is still so much to be thankful for.
So my friends, have a happy Thanksgiving!
And remember that today is your day. Live Inspired.
