Bitty & Beau’s Lesson on Success
Last night, I had the chance to teach my kids a game my dad and I played when I was younger: Risk. And in the midst of playing, one of my little ones asked, “Well, how do you win?”
This question lead to not only an explanation on how to win at the game of Risk, but ultimately to a larger discussion on what it means to be successful in life. And it reminded me that success doesn’t always mean that you’re the wealthiest or most powerful person in the room. Let me explain.
In a world where most businesses measure success by top line revenue and bottom line profitability, I recently learned about a business that measures success using a whole different scale.
Instead of focusing on getting the most people through their lines as quickly as possible, Bitty & Beau’s Coffee is focused on bringing joy, making a connection, and providing an opportunity to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Today’s #LiveInspired vlog reminds us that the model of Bitty & Beau’s doesn’t only work for the business they’ve set up. It may also provide the map for what it really means to achieve success in our own lives.
Today is your day. Live Inspired.
