Welcome to Day 19 of the IN AWE 21-Day Challenge! Today we spark inspiration, meaning and joy by choosing CREATIVITY.

CHALLENGE: Creativity, like gratitude, is a discipline. Embrace the choice to be creative like you embrace doing other difficult things.

INSPIRATION: My friend performance graffiti artist + author Erik Wahl once said to me, “Everyone is creative, but our creativity is hidden in uncertainties + the quietness of life; a space we don’t often enter.”

Well, my friends, we have entered that space! There are few words better than “quiet” + “uncertain” to describe quarantine! Need more inspiration? Listen to my entire conversation with Erik + learn how to see art as an exploration of getting comfortable with being uncomfortable here on Live Inspired Podcast Ep. 80.

ACTION: Today, create for the sake of creating, not the finished product. Pull out your kids’ crayons and some paper or your magazines and some scissors… or whatever project you got the pieces for but never began.

Today, it doesn’t matter if you finish. Just start. Allow yourself the time and space to enjoy being creative.

Share what it felt like! In the comments on Challenge Day 20 Page or on social, tagging me + using #InAwe.

My friends, today is your day! Live IN AWE.

When I started painted, I was very exited. I didn’t paint for some years, so I was scared I forgot how to do it.
I made 2 pieces of art and only one of them was great. Other was disgusting ?. I enjoyed the process.
Only me with my mind and creative thoughts. I’m going to take painting courses!

Double whammy! I have been procrastinating making a new marketing piece because I consider myself the most uncreative person alive! I’m not computer saavy, nor artistic, so the task has seemed overwhelming and daunting. Today I found an example of the layout I want and taught myself the tools to make it my own! Graphics, texts, colors, fonts, and photos! I was so proud! Still, it is a very simple piece, but hey, so am I! Maybe not crayons, but I am so pleased with my “creation”!

Today we danced like kids in the office and we were sure to wear our most colorful shirts to enjoy it also. We decided we’d make a video of us dancing too just so we could be sure to laugh at ourselves and maybe in the future also.
