“Generally, by the time you are real most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joins and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all.” – Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit
As I wrote my national bestselling book IN AWE I had the distinct pleasure of retraining myself to see the world through the eyes of a child…
So that I could understand how to be more alive, inspired and joy-filled.
And in so doing, help you do the same. Before I could draft this book, I had to read my favorite classic children’s books. Hold many (many!) interviews (check out my podcast to hear them firsthand). Reflect on the many friends I’ve met over the years and what made their lives inspired.
…to distill the five senses of childlike wonder that make life so joy-filled when we’re children + crack the code on how to unleash them in our lives as adults.
One of the five senses is “belonging” and a very special story in my book makes the value of this sense crystal clear.
Curtis and his siblings share more beautifully than any expert I’ve talked to or book I’ve read the importance and beauty of “belonging.” It’s my honor to share their story with you. Watch this video to meet Curtis + his siblings:
My friend, it is human nature to desire to be heard; to want to be known; to pray to be loved… and to feel as if we truly belong.
Curtis, thanks for the reminder.
This is your day. Live Inspired.
