IN STUDIO – Prep Your Tech
IN STUDIO is a live webcast or video stream. This checklist will help you set up your computer to give you the best experience. (If you’ve used GoToWebinar, etc.: This is similar. It looks like a lot to get in place at first, but once you’re set up, you’re good to go!)
- Use a computer not a mobile device if at all possible.
- Chrome and Firefox are the recommended browsers. Whichever you use, make sure you have the most up-to-date version.
- Be sure you have installed and updated Adobe Flash.
- If you are logging in from a company, school, etc.: Make sure Ustream.tv isn’t blocked by your firewall. Learn more here.
- You need consistent internet connection to watch a live stream. Shared wi-fi (ex. a coffee shop) often isn’t reliable to view without interruption.
- Get a full list of ways to check your tech here.
- Note, with live webcasting, even with your tech prepped, there will likely be a time when your screen will delay or freeze. When this happens, one of the following should fix it:
- Hit the “refresh” button in your browser (as shown below):

- Click on the “HD” button (as shown below) and pick a lower resolution.
